Induction Support for New Tutors
Tutors who are new to ITTE often feel the need for some initial support with what is a complex and demanding role. For a variety of reasons, this support is not always readily available. Consequently, the Training and Development Agency for Schools asked professional associations across the curriculum to develop materials and networks that would serve to support new tutors.
Within Physical Education, a range of advice documents has been produced and these are available via the Advice and Support Materials section of the site. The documents are available to all PE ITTE tutors but there is a specific document available to new tutors via this page providing advice on the transition to the role of PE ITTE tutor
In addition, New Tutors’ Networking Days have been established and are open to any tutor who has taken on the role within the last two years. The 2008/2009 Networking Day is yet to be scheduled but details will be posted when available within this section and on the Bulletin Board.
A forum is also available for new tutors where ideas and concerns can be shared with others in a similar situation.
