Our drama group put together a lively, humourous educational production educating school learners on HIV/AIDS, rape, corruption. We went to a number of schools in the township and presented it there. The play was written by one of the guys and is a mixture of slang and Xhosa. We incorporated hip hop and elements of pantsula into the production.
On the 16th of September the group hosted a Steve Biko Commemoration and AIDS Awareness outside event in Fingo. We held it on the corner of a busy intersection so that would be accessible to residents. The event attracted about 300 people. The winner received R150 for presenting a speech on how Steve Biko has influenced him. Pure Courage, an MC, won R100 for a brilliant 10 minute hiphop freestyle verse which he delivered with both wit and skill after Tsepiso’s speech. Several Grahamstown music groups also performed
